Thank you to Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation
Cystic Fibrosis Community Care would like to give a huge thank you to Newcastle Permanent Chartable Foundation for their support and generosity with the Breathe Better 2 Program! Together, we have been able to provide 82 pieces of essential nebuliser and nebuliser replacement parts and helped 71 people access fitness equipment or fitness support.
We are so thankful to have had this opportunity to support our community members living in Central West, Hunter, New England, Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers and Central Coast regions.
Here is what a couple of our members had to say about the program:
“The NPCF BB2P was a massive influence on me being able to improve my lung function and overall fitness. The funding provided in this program allowed me to purchase a gym membership. This membership has allowed me to improve my overall fitness and mental health. However, the most important thing in my opinion is the improvement it has made to my lung function, which is second to none with an increase of nearly 7% from when I first started. As a father of two young girls, I am setting an example to them of what hard work and dedication can do for you. As a result of my improved lung function and fitness, it also means that I am doing everything I can to be around for them a lot longer and be able to run around and be a great dad. I’m not saying the funding did all this, what I am saying is that the funding allowed me to continue improving my fitness without the worry of the costs involved in purchasing a membership. As we all know, there is already a financial burden placed on people and families directly affected by CF, and any extra support, regardless of how big or little it may be, really helps, so thank you CFCC and the NPCF BB2P for your assistance. Here’s to maintaining and improving my health for the long term.” Adam, Adult with CF
“A huge thank you to CFCC NSW program for providing much-needed exercise equipment to improve lung function and overall wellbeing. I am able to exercise at home and maintain infection control. Thank you so much.” Anonymous
